Hi guys,

I will be taking this project out of minor, sorry guys. I guess we will not have the enough time to render and plan as a book by the deadline. Some are doing their fyp, and some out of iap, there will be insufficient time left for us to complete the whole project. We will be continuing, maybe as part of our portfolio.

Please post any comments here for any unhappiness.

Thanks,
Aaron

This is my W.I.P... maybe i will need more time

i drew some sketches of the houses on the shell, still getting them in perspective, more toning has to be done...
the houses will be in flames, so it will cover mostly the whole area...

This is my final... im changing back to the old one, the turtle island

theres a village on top of its shell but it will be in flares so its nt shown on the linework, still improving on the sketches.

I have changed my creature for sea marines... heres the linework

bottom is male and top is female, they tend to appear on shores and heal injured sailors by creating water bubbles when there was a shipwreck. So its a blessing to see them, but sometimes got killed by pirates who came on shore.

By the way, they have frog legs XD

Here are the rough mock-ups for the layout,

the first layout is for the intro page for every topic, spreaded across 2 facing pages. On the right hand side, there are 4 squares where 1 square stands out from the others, which will be represented by a thumbnail, showing the topic for this particular section. * the tree illustration is just there for a test

the second and third layout will be the pages showing our artworks.
2nd - the initial idea at first, showing linework then final colour piece
3rd - jl's idea, of showing a brainstorming mindmap of thumbnails, how we progress to the final with colour tests, then the final piece stretched across the page on the right

please give any comments on ways improving on them
and please give useful comments

I was thinking for the layout for our book... my initial idea was to put the linework by the side of the final colour piece, meaning two facing pages. But I got another idea of putting 4 sketches instead of just one linework, so as to show more of our brainstorming progress...

I will post the layout soon here, this is a sample of how the placement of sketches look... of course it is not the best look, I was still experimenting of ideas to make the layout looks good.

Comments.
